Designs aren't mistakes they are decisions
I recently have been working on a large refactor of a code base. The biggest driver of this was the scalability of adding more teams onto our platform and the requirement of a lot of duplicate code to handle it. It led to me thinking about decisions I have made over the years in software and a refactor like this becomes necessary as a team progresses.

I have been on many different teams over the years and how they handle architecture design discussions is always a point of interest for me. In general, there are a few rules that I try to personally abide by while leading these discussions. How teams handle these rules can look different, but the underlying principals are important for a successful discussion to be had.
